Yang Xiao is originally from China and holds a PhD in Statistics from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where his research focused on spatial statistics and Bayesian methods. His current research interests lie in healthcare analytics, particularly in understanding the complex, high-dimensional data generated by digital health devices. His work aims to contribute to the development of real-time, data-driven approaches to medicine. He is currently developing new statistical methods for digital phenotyping based on densely observed functional data. He also works on high-dimensional methods for functional data and on approaches that integrate digital health measurements with genetic information to improve the understanding and prediction of human health outcomes. His primary goal is to develop statistical models that have a tangible impact on medicine, extending beyond academic publications to support meaningful improvements in healthcare and clinical practice.
